Emerging trends in healthcare and long term care All employers who are part of the Center of Excellence in Long Term Care are asked regularly about the next big challenges or changes on the horizon in the industry - whether new technologies that employees need to be prepared to work with, new types of equipment they'll have to learn to use, or new types of skills they'll need to have to be successful and continue to grow and change with the long term care industry. For example, with med pass systems and care trackers, both licensed staff and nurse aides increasingly need to be prepared to interact with computer touch screen systems to retrieve and record information - would some basic skills preparation in using such systems be helpful to your employees?
Technology Transfer We also partner with organizations involved in translating research findings into practice in the industry regionally, across Pennsylvania and around the United States.
- Better Jobs, Better Care is an initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that is looking at ways to improve the work environment of people in Long-term care jobs.
