Turnover Analysis Tools
Turnover Analysis Tools are a set of Excel-spreadsheet based tools to help you to:
  • Take a snapshot of your current employment and turnover across all levels of staffing - full-time, part-time, per diem / RN, LPN, CNA, dietary, housekeeping, laundry, etc;
  • Assess your total true replacement and turnover costs by position,
  • Gain visibility to trends in turnover across staff positions, across shifts and by length of service,
  • Assess the true impact of various management practices, hiring practices, HR policies and financial incentive programs on turnover and retention,
  • Calculate the annual cost of all bonuses, incentives, differentials and wage increases to enable you to make informed decisions about appropriate allocation of those funds in the future, and
  • Assess your facility's management practices against best practices identified through extensive research on turnover in long term care by Susan Eaton, Harvard researcher, in five essential areas:
    • High quality leadership and management
    • An organizational culture that values and respects direct care workers
    • Positive, high performance HR policies
    • Effective, motivational work organization and care practices
    • Adequate staffing ratios
